The dining room offers your child/ren the opportunity to sit with each other and socialise during mealtimes. The children are offered home made, nutritious meals which are freshly prepared each morning. The children are encouraged to find their own name cards that are all individually matched to their names using phonics. The children are also encouraged to use a fork and knife/spoon to eat with and all have a refreshing drink of water too.
The Pre-School room is an L shaped building which allows the children to have access to both messy/ creative activities on the lino area, and a chance to access boxes of toys, look at stories and enjoy the role play area on the carpet.
As the children are getting ready for school in this room, the Aunties will choose a topic per week to focus on with your little ones. This could range from ‘All About Me’ to ‘The World Around Us’. The staff also closely follow children interests and are quick to follow these by providing the children with different/exciting activities to promote
The children also have Literacy and Mathematics sessions everyday where they have small grouptimes which focus on their individual needs and a chance to learn at their own pace. The Puddleducks Ethos is that Every Child learns at their own pace and will be suppported throughout their journey with us.
The Toddler Room is a very open and inviting space for your little one to play and explore. The children have access to toy boxes, malleable, sand, water and crafts activities also. Again the Toddler room is very ‘child led’ and staff will always provide activities that mirror what the child is interested in.
Toddlers love their stories and enjoy a range of books, some of the favourites include; The Gruffalo, Into the Castle, Room on a Broom and the Bear Hunt. We also love to sing songs and have an interactive song board which the Toddlers access all the time.
