Hello from Puddleducks @ Rising Bridge, our nursery is a converted Methodist Church which has been restored and converted into our lovely nursery. The building was originally Baxenden Methodist Church from 1969 to 2011. Prior to this the site was a building ‘Wesleyan Sunday School’ 1835 which was rebuilt in 1859 as a church, then demolished and rebuilt as the present building in 1969. Our nursery opened in May 2014. We have now extended in to the building next door which we have made in to a Toddler Unit in July 2017.
We have carefully considered the interior design to make the best of the space we have to enable children to play and learn in a spacious and pleasant bright environment. There is a spacious outdoor area which offers lots of learning opportunities for the children including our mud kitchen and outdoor story shelter.
We have a spacious and light baby room in which we can care for up to 8 babies, the babies have access to an ‘outdoor baby deck’ a space where the babies can enjoy their own outdoor time without the hustle and bustle of the main play area.
The babies can interact with the older children and always enjoy watching the children on the bikes and talking to them through the decking.
Our Toddler Room is a self contained unit where our Toddlers can explore and learn as they play. There is a small outside area for them to explore when they want to. The Toddlers will practice skills such as sharing, playing alongside others and decision making. The areas are inviting and stimulating. The Toddler Room Aunties ensure that they are ready for their next step in their education, moving in to the Pre-School Room.
Our pre-school room is a spacious room which allows the children to play and explore whilst learning the vital skills they will need for their transitions into their schools.
Staff ensure your children have the skills they will need in order to progress into the next stage in their life – school. Staff work with parents to ensure the transition between nursery and school can be as smooth as possible. We can care for up to 14 pre-school children within this room.
We strive on providing the best possible care for each and every child, whilst also providing the support for parents and carers in ensuring they feel happy and involved in their child’s journey throughout nursery.
